Note: English is his 3rd language so he apologizes if his language appears to be poor!

1. Why did you become a member of deviantART? What do you like best about deviantART?

Well, I used to dodge all art and art classes till December 2004. And it was then when a friend of mine, LeSoldatMort, convinced me I should give it a try. She was a dA rookie then as well and was overjoyed with the page and its community, so my coming to deviantArt was closely tied to me becoming an artist. Or at least starting the journey to become one.

I enjoy the diversity that the server offers; all the various people I can meet and talk to. From Czech Republic to South Africa, from Los Angeles to Vladivostok, from the fans of StarCraft to the fans of Mass Effect. And so many amazing people to learn from and admire.

2. Do you have a favorite artist? A favorite Fan Artist? (here on deviantART or off site)

Of course, who doesn't? If I had to mention all of them, it would be like quoting the yellow pages. But to name a few: Clayton Henry (Clayton-Henry), Mark Brooks (diablo2003) and Andy Park (andyparkart) are definitely one of my biggest inspirations from the "official" field.

From the fanartists, definitely Tamplier (TamplierPainter), coincidentally featured in the Daily Deviations today, or JamieFayX, or the amazing photographer jaytablante.

Though my greatest hero in the field is a writer, none other than Chris Claremont. I based most of my gallery off his work after all.

3. What are you most proud of in your life? What is your favorite piece of Fan Art that you have done?

Unfortunatelly, I can't say I'm exactly proud of something. Well, maybe I am, for about two minutes. Then I start finding flaws and then... well... I believe most people out there can relate. I simply do. It either ends in success or in failure. But nevermind how much I dislike and wail over the finished piece having distorted anatomy or bad lightwork, as long as the process was enjoyable and taught me a lesson, I find it worth the time. So I suppose I'm proud of the creation itself.

From the very same reason I can't really say I have a favorite piece of fan art for its artistic qualities. Of course, my fancomic "Rules of a Hunt" (c-t-elder.deviantart.com/art/R…) is a bit of a favorite child of mine. I hardly would spend two years in its company if I didn't love making it. And the story is still far from over so who knows? Maybe the last page will finally be a piece to which I can really tell myself: "Oh yeah. Not too shabby, old man."

But then again knowing myself, probably not. :)

4. What do you love about the Fan Art community so much?

It's diversity. No matter what movie I watch, what game I play, what comic I read, I always find someone devoted to it. Mass Effect? Yes. StarCraft? Yes. Okami? Definitely. Assassins Creed? Game of Thrones? X-Men? Loads of! New Exiles? .... .... Alright, I know, in that case, I'm the only regular. Come on, people. Blink's & Sabretooth's team needs some love, too :)

5. What/who is your biggest inspiration when it comes to creating art?

My imagination has its own hyperdrive, so I get inspired by almost anything: from videogames, to music, to random stuff I see outside, from random people I meet, from random things that happen to me... But my biggest source are probably the silly conversations I have with my fellow sibling Charley-the-Dragon and which usually revolve similar to "And now imagine if Storm, Shadowcat and Nightcrawler got to a world where...", which leads to making up stories which leads to me illustrating them... which produces fanart.

6. What is your all time favorite Fandom?

No-brainer.  X-Men & (New) Exiles. But I have tons of other "also-favorites".

7. Any parting words/words of encouragement to the audience you would like to leave for us?

"What good it is to seek perfection? Perfection is static, the ultimate end. Where do you go from there? It's much better to simply try and do your best... and the next time, try a little harder." [Chris Claremont]

"When one tries to master something, it ends in either success or failure. But it is in the attempt itself where you find the true value." [Oki]

Artists are neither made nor broken by their talent, free time, their teachers or background. They're forged solely by their own resolve. Because in the end, when you're all alone and fighting against the blank white canvas, your sole enemy and only ally is yourself.
